Victorian Silk Dupion Couture Gown – Size UK 10
An extraordinary Victorian-infused couture gown crafted in structured silk dupion, designed as a singular heritage archive piece. Defined by architectural corsetry and elaborate historical detailing, this is a gown conceived with sculptural intention and ceremonial presence.
The bodice is heavily boned, creating a precise corseted structure that shapes and defines the upper silhouette. A puffed layered skirt extends from the waist, constructed in structured silk dupion and enriched with scalloped French scroll lace woven with gold thread, introducing depth and historical ornamentation throughout the form.
A central vertical panel runs continuously from bodice through to hem on both the front and back of the gown, layered with lace to reinforce symmetry and vertical structure. Covered silk buttons are carefully placed along the front and back, forming a refined decorative rhythm within the construction.
At the back, the bodice opens into a detachable cascading cathedral tail, padded and pleated to create controlled volume as it falls over the bustle structure. This extended train introduces dramatic movement and architectural presence, completing the silhouette with ceremonial scale.
